Dissertation #3 is all systems go! Congratulate me!

Well, the proposal, anyway.

Dissertation #1 went away when the problem resolved itself and there wasn't anything to research any more. This is OK, because I hated, hated, HATED the topic. (My advisor decided I should be interested in it. I wasn't.)

Dissertation #2 fell flat on its face in the data collection phase when, well, I couldn't collect any data. I wasn't in love with the topic, but I didn't hate it.

I've run Dissertation #3 by my committee, and they all think it sounds like a good idea. This one's all mine, idea-wise, whereas the previous two were, well, not.

I have until the end of this month to get a rough proposal done (ACK!) and then I can start collecting data.

I love it here. I was thrilled to get accepted to grad school in WV because I totally wanted to live in here. It's one of the most beautiful states in the country (and I say that coming from the Pacific Northwest!), IMO.
