In my heart I heard the beginnings of someone that had a reason to start my feelings something I believed in yesterday.
Can you hear something only the beginning of a feeling They had a reason to start feeling feelings though they didn't ever believe

Dawn Purple like royal letters Carved from the stump of an old elm Floods the ancient skies Breaking through spider webs Like fertile guitar strings Snapping them And plummeting toward Future

wonderful words, but
doesn't the belief system limit you? It would me.

Please expand? How does a belief in God limit? In what way?

are going through the same!
One year, as I got it, was for those that were also going through this. Those free of this are fair game!!!!!! :)

You probably heard that one before. But you got the relationship thing wrong--none for a year. No romance with anyone. You know that you addict you. :P

I do feel a bit phony here. I got into a relationship before I had a year and my sponsor said: Just don't pick-up. After it ended three years latter I felt like I suffered in my recovery from being so wrapped up in another person.
Here's a ditty
First the man takes the bottle then the bottle takes the man
I'll get off my high-horse now.

| 11. for me the hardest part |
|
is avoiding my "friends"
I know I have to make a new set of playmates, but damn it's hard - especially in a small, very small town.
I will succeed.

It takes time and at first I thought that the people at meetings weren't "cool," and that most of them didn't seem to have taken as many drugs as me. I was a bit "terminally unique." But I did finally meet some people who did not get high, did not attend meetings and had the same interests as I did.
When I was released from rehab I wound up in a new city. So I never had to avoid my old friends. I did invite a friend to stay with me once my first year. She came in from New York. I woke in the middle of the night to find her shooting up in my kitchen. I have not seen her since. I called her recently to check in. Her husband just died from hepatitis C and she is on the list for a new liver.
Keep up the poetry.

that I still feel alone. more so than before at times. I haven't been able to connect with anyone yet, and don't see it happening. I don't think the meetings are for me, because I am still an outsider.

and then telling the people at the meeting what you just wrote about meetings. My problem was I didn't like anyone, including myself. I think it was helpful that I was in a city in walking distance to many meetings. People hated me, I used to share that I hated meetings, hated the people, etc. I used to share that I was an atheist, and that they were fools believing in God, and that my IQ was in such a high percentile that they would never understand me since they probably had average or at best above average IQs. Some brave soul would come up and say "I love when you share--but you drive most of them crazy--want to go for coffee." And I would force myself to say yes.
The first poem I ever had published in a real journal was after I showed one to a person at a meeting and he wrote down a magazine and said he thought they would like it. He then showed me the proper way to submit poetry for publication, and it was accepted.
I'm off to bed. Hang in there: it might not get better, but you will!

This will give you time to be present to yourself which is a cool relationship and of course all the steps are about building a relationship with your higher power, if you don't like the year rule you can take the other option which is after completing step nine, this made more sense to me because the results and intent is the same.

Man was never horned until he fought with God.
And we are here in post-revolution America knowing that Gil-Scott-heron was right and this revolution is not being televised. I know this is true cause I am watching a stream of images like Dorthy watched Kansas when tornadoes picked the world up and spun it hard- hard enuff to make up look down. And now we are here in PNAC although it doesn't look new at all but rather Orwellian and it reminds me of another time when I tried to stop iron bombs from falling from a sky much bluer than the one above me now so grey I expect four horseman to gallop forth in some apocalyptic scenario of auto-geddon. Did I say Auto-geddon? or Armageddon? A freudian slip of the tongue but then again maybe not as death tastes oily leaking like a beast in the desert night.
