I saw this on the Today Show this morning (Bingham's mother was on to help promote it). It really sounds like a good idea. You don't have to give a day's pay just do something for someone else or the community on or around September 11th. It's a "pay it forward" kind of thing.
http://www.onedayspay.org/We're a national non-profit organization, working in partnership with The Coalition of 9/11 Families, the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network, Youth Service America, Citizen Corps, and other leading groups to establish September 11 as a national day of voluntary service, charity and compassion - an initiative honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks on America.
Please join our effort now by registering your confidential, non-binding pledge to dedicate a portion of that day – however you see fit – to help others in need. It's free and there's no obligation. If you represent a business, school or other organization, you can register a group pledge as well. If you're unsure what to do, we can provide Helpful Ideas.
Thanks for visiting One Day's Pay.
