| What is your favorite Bert Bacharach/Hal David Song? |
|
I simply adore these song writers, and I thought it would be fun to see what other DUers' faves are. Mine would be a toss up between "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?" and "I Say a Little Prayer." Anyone Else?

I don't think that is the exact name of the song, but it is a favorite. Oh, and "What's It All About Alfie?"

| 7. Valley of the Dolls = Andre Previn |
|
Bacharach/David wrote most of Dionne Wariwick's hits in the 1960's, but actually her biggest hit of that decade was written by Andre Previn and Previn's wife.

| 10. This Guy's in Love and The Look of Love |
|
It's a toss up for me also. Bacharach/David wrote This Guy's in Love for Herb Alpert to sing to his wife on a TV special way back in 1968.
The Dusty Springfield version of The Look of Love in the movie "Casino Royale" is another all-time favorite.
I love dozens of other Bacharach/David songs and can only dream of the day when music like that is popular again.

I like the Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 version of it. And I agree...I wish that kind of music would come back! A little Gordon Lightfoot, a little Bacharach and David, a little Carpenters...I love this stuff. Makes me feel so much better after hearing it.
