| If anyone starts to tell you about 'District 9' ask them to stop immediately |

None of this is a give away, it's all established near the beginning of the movie. --Don't see all that many good movies (State of Play? Stay Away). The last really good movie I saw was Slumdog Millionaire (although, why did have to look for her at the train station if he already had her cell number?). Saw 'District 9' last night and it rocks. The first 20 minutes didn't bode well, it looks like it's going to be a simple morality fable (the whites oppressed the blacks, but then the whites and blacks team up to oppress the aliens) and too much gore (they vivisect cows to feed their young). It's important that it's set in South Africa, because you know a lot of the stuff you see comes straight out of their history.
It's best viewed cold. Don't look up anything about it. It's a satisfying scifi/horro/action mashup. If you like those types of movies, it does all three well.
