Upon seeing Mr. Pitt speak for the first time

I caught the last few moments of Mr. Pitt's speech on a CSPAN-2 repeat late last night, along with the following Q&A. This being the first time I've seen The Man in action, even if for a few moments, I felt it my duty to congratulate him.

You're a compelling speaker, Mr. P. You speak with a clarity of voice, thought, and idea that is extremely rare, and you deserve all the kudos, fame, and fortune that come your way because of it. I hope to see more of you in action in the future. (Let me know if you ever plan to speak in Dallas!)

The only real problem I saw was, it appeared you were preaching to the converted. You yourself noted the lack of press coverage at the event you were attending, but CSPAN was there, and your word was heard by many outside the hall. So that's all right-- the tide is turning, and your voice is growing louder, and it's becoming harder to ignore the things you are telling us. Although the sun may seem to be slowly rising on you, William, I hope you buy some good sunscreen, because your day out in it hasn't even well begun yet!

Thank you for saying the things the rest of us know and understand, but have no public platform to say it on. You've become one of the Vital Voices of the new resistance, and I wish you well in all you do. Doggone it, as broke as I am, now I have to go buy your book!
