MANCHESTER – A man was arrested this morning after he heckled officers, flicked a lit cigarette at one of them and then challenged him to a fight.
Kevin J. Klardie, 59, of 265 Blucher St., is charged with disorderly conduct, simple assault and resisting arrest.
Police said early Thursday morning Klardie was on his front porch when he began heckling officers who had pulled over a car.
Klardie allegedly was shouting profanities and refused orders to quiet down. When an officer walked over to confront him, police said he flicked a burning cigarette at him and then challenged him to a fight. The officer told him he was under arrest but police said Klardie began fighting with officers who tried to handcuff him.
"Klardie's efforts proved fruitless," according to the department's blog. He was arrested and taken to the station where he was booked and photographed.
