5. Geno's had "freedom fries" on its menu last summer.

I haven't been to Philly since June of last year, but at that time, they had "freedom fries" back then. :-(

...and only in South Boston, as far as I can ascertain, the sandwich in question is called a 'spuckie'.

The canonical Italian spuckie is:

Mortadella, not bologna
Genoa salami not cotto or cooked salami
capicola, not ham.
Provolone

Pickles
Oil & vinegar
Hot peppers.

A spuckie, not further qualified, was this sandwich.
