Gives me something to laugh about, when nothing like that is happening here.

| 1. I need to find a place where I can re-watch those - are they on DVD or Hulu? |
|
where do you watch em?
They were so, so good, used to rewind em when I taped em, in order to catch the rapid fire and oh so witty exchanges!

| 3. They are certainly on dvd, but it would be great to see them on Netflix streaming |
|
where you could watch one episode after another.
With all of the many, many channels why isn't the West Wing playing somewhere everyday?

I believe this is the 4th go around for me....
It never gets old.
Now if they could only bring back the X-Files in the evening my life would be complete.... ...but I would trade them ALL in for a good JOB!

a huge contrast between the actual and the possible.
I don't like them so much now.
still a contrast between the actual and the possible. Not as much, but somehow more dissatisfying.

I actually have ordered the Complete Series two times and returned them both because there was no episode guide or pilot script inside. I'm obsessed! It's got to be COMPLETE series or nothing at all.

| 5. The first four years of the West Wing is as good as TV ever got. |
|
Brilliant stuff, really brilliant, from many different angles. After the fourth season Aaron Sorkin moved on, and the show continued for three more years. It was still very good, but the writing dipped a bit, and some of the plots were less believable. Extraordinarily deep characterization, clever dynamics, superior wit: it was a great show.
I wish the DVDs were a little cheaper. I'd buy the 1st four years.

...I don't know if it was just me, but Jimmy Smits just ruined it for me. After seven seasons with the charismatic, witty Sheen, it was really hard to watch Jimmy Smits take his place, as if he could ever.
Sigh, I miss this show. It's so sick, but the West Wing theme is my ringtone. I'm fiendin' over here!

TWW is, in my opinion, the best television series ever. Incomparable writing, at least under Sorkin, masterful acting and directing. TWW had it all. It helped me keep my sanity during the dark years of The Clown Prince. I called it my "weekly dose of democracy."

Wondering if any West Wing fans caught the show Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip? It was very much in the style of the West Wing. Sadly, it only lasted one season. :(

I used to fantasize that they were MY administration during the horrid bush years! Here is a clip of CJ doing The Jackal - it still cracks me up all these years later... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7H_L5cYkg8A favorite scene with President Bartlett using the bible against a bigot... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-zhNiGlogQ&feature=related
