Sorry John...when you asked "DO you wear glasses or anything like it?" I immediately said to myself, "Well, a bra is kind of like glasses." In reality, glasses don't keep your eyeballs from dropping to your knees. :D

I have progressive myopia, which is still progressing nicely, thank you. I think the technical term for my lenses is 'coke bottle bottoms', which dates me, because I'm referring to the glass bottles soda used to come in.

Still have 20/20 vision, but at 46 I got my first pair of reading glasses. I still forget to take them with me to restaurants. It's humiliating to rely on my son to read the menu for me. Luckily, Costco (a good corporation that supports Dem candidates and treats its employees very well) has a three pack of reading glasses for around $20. I now have a pair at my desk, one at the kitchen table to read the paper and one in my purse.

and either wear glasses or daily disposable contacts (that i dispose every 4 days or so). Otherwise, i have to be 2 feet away from someone to recognize them... or closer... i don't go there.
I'm optically disabled. Odd that i've had to pay for this sort of medical treatment my whole life with or without insurance, as if it is not a medical condition?

I just had my eyes checked on a whim cause I realized I'd never had them checked before and it took me a long time to figure out what things far away said..
So, I'm nearsighted and I wear them driving, walking around, and in class but don't wear them at home or while reading.

|
About four years ago, small type suddenly became hard for me to read. But my three sisters endured a similar fate, so it wasn't all that traumatic. So I got my +15% glasses, and I've been taking a multivitamin with lutien. I'm happy to say that my eyes haven't gotten any worse, and as long as I don't need glasses for watching TV or driving, I'm happy!

since I need them to be able to find things, and I can't find them without them, but if I already had them, looking for them would be sort of pointless.

but I HATE HATE HATE the idea of anything coming near my eyeballs, and the doc needs to clamp-open my eyelids ('Clockwork Orange,' anyone?). Once they can do the procedure with me soundly knocked-out, I'll consider.

.....lost the only pair I owned...haven't been able to afford to have 'em replaced...I only have like 10% vision in my left eye...got my first pair o'glasses at 2yrs believe it or not....wore 'em till age 9 but they never improved the vision in my left eye so I quit wearin' 'em....was always 20/20 in my right eye dispite the apparent near blindness in my left...untill a few years ago...now I'm near-sighted...have a hard time focusin' on stuff far away and reeeally need another pair. x(
