My beloved older sister is in hospital and the dotors are pretty convinced she has some kind of stomach cancer. She's having surgery on Monday and though she is trying hard to be stoic, it's clear she's scared and who wouldn't be? She's about the kindest, most unassuming person you could ever hope to know, so please, can you send some good things her way?

I love her so much and have tried to lure her at least to the DU Lounge (she is a Straight Dope board fan and has a bit of a wicked sense of humor, y'all would love her!). I'd love to show her the love here!

22. Thank you all. Found out this afternoon that the fluid they removed is malignant,

All that is left to determine is where are the tumors and the extent of the malignancy. We're hoping it was caugh early but chemo is already on the horizon.
