I'm glad you think so!
I was really surprised at the moon pic. They normally don't turn out at all...

| 8. Exactly, I admired it last night, but you took a picture . |
|
And it is a good picture. Not sure how you managed it, but I have saved it, so rare to get such a good picture of the moon. Thank you.

I have to tell you, I am really honored that you found my picture good enough to save!
All I did: I took my DSLR Nikon D50 (on auto) and pointed it at the moon. Bingo.
A little photoshopping (crop and increased contrast, I think) and here is my pic...
Advanced techniques are beyond me.
Thank you so much!

. . . Tucson has spoiled MOST sunsets for me. In the past, I WOULD have said, "Beautiful sunset pictures, but my first and foremost thought seems to have been (and remains), "Gee, those approach our sunsets." . The iconic southwestern art, with its vivid purples and tangerines and pinks and turquoises? Those are not really exaggerations -- that's what we see in the MAJORITY of our sunsets... not just the GREAT ones. . . . But that moon picture is GORGEOUS -- did the aperture snap or did you have it open for a while. It's offset beautifully by the suggestion of clouds to the left. . . .

I hear you about Tuscon sunsets! You are all so damn lucky too! Our summer has been especially dreary, which is why I took these and posted them......they were about as good as it got over here...
Oh well.
I'm glad you enjoyed my moon shot. I had it on auto, believe it or not, and I have no idea how long the shutter stayed open.
Thanks, sweetie!

| 15. "We'll laugh at that old bloodshot moon...in the burgundy sky" |
|
My favorite Tom Waits lyric ("New Coat Of Paint" from "The Heart Of Saturday Night"), even though the moon in your photo isn't bloodshot and the sky isn't burgundy. Cool photo, but it's like a Pavlov dog...I hear the word "moon" and I go straight to that lyric.

And who could blame you for going right to that lyric? Some associations are so powerful that there's no disputing them...
Glad you enjoyed my moon shot, sweetie!
