There is one more, a beautiful Persian kitty who I am afraid is so inbred that he's retarded. At this moment, I believe he's probably hiding behind the toilet in the downstairs bathroom. His name is Harley, but we call him Hardly, because he's hardly ever there. That breaks my heart because between the four of them, they've heard exactly ZERO bad words, have NEVER been touched in anger, and have ALWAYS been treated as good as if not better than our own children.

1. Have you had Hardly long enough to determine whether or not he's afraid of dogs

due to a bad experience? That's sad that he hides. I don't know much about cats, so I hope a cat owner has some good advice.

2. Harley was our first pet, bought from a local breeder. He was six weeks old when he came home to us

He's a strange one... sometimes out of the blue he fancies himself to be a lap cat, for like an hour. He sleeps on our bed at night for a couple of weeks, then under it for a while, then somewhere else in the house.

Zero chance of his having a bad dog experience other than when we brought home Bella, and then Luna. He's not afraid of them in the slightest. Never has been. He was six years old when we brought Bella the Golden Retriever home when she was three months old. He put her in her place post haste. Luna nips at his heels when he goes through living room, and he acts like she's not even there.

Don't get me wrong, I love him. I just wish he'd somehow become the lap cat I hoped he'd be when we brought him into our house.

getting when you adopt them.

Just contnue accepting him & loving him as he is. :)

Our children are grown and gone. I'm not one who thinks animals are human equals.

My kids were never yelled at or hit. My wife's kids were never yelled at or hit. Now it's us and the animals and we neither yell at nor hit them.

7. That cat looks a lot like mine. Cats are independent; they want to

come and go and change position as they please. That seems to be the only constant that they keep.
