Should I buy the home a Nuclear Reactor?

I was thinking, save on power bills, build a nuclear reactor in the back yard

1. That depends.

Do you live in an earthquake or storm-prone area? Do you have a safe place to store the spent fuel rods? Do you have nuclear scientists and technicians to run the reactor properly? You will want to answer these questions before you purchase.

And I was thinking if things get hairy, I'll just dump the waste in the bay

10. DIY. How frickin hard could it really be?

(1) Put ad for uranium ore on Craigs list
(2) Build yourself a big old barn, like Marie Curie had:

(3) Separate the uranium from ore in barn
(4) Order a bunch of big tanks of fluorine gas
(5) Spray fluorine gas on uranium to made uranium fluoride
(6) Put uranium fluoride in buckets and swing buckets around head to enrich uranium
(7) Make fuel from enriched uranium
(8) Assemble almost critical masses of enriched uranium into hot piles
(9) Pour water on hot piles of uranium to make steam
(10) Use steam to run steam-powered lightbulbs
