And I recall no rottweilers. Other than the dog door part, pretty fuzzy. May have been an overly friendly hound with a lot of extra saliva. Or that may have been some other unrelated memory.

I also recall stepping over a bush and finding a rattlesnake between my legs, equally unhappy about the situation. That was the last time I recall being prepared to shoot an animal, because if he took me out I was going to take him as well. Then he found his hole and disappeared, and I was able to breathe again.

I remember when Reagen cut funding the state mental hospitals to the bare bones and left the mentally ill, except for those suicidal and/or homicidal, to fend for themselves on the streets. I've seen the disastrous effects of his policies: homeless mentally ill people barely existing on the streets, unable to care for themselves, falling prey to robbers, rapists, and murderers. ;(

I think of it now as the beginning of most of what we suffer now. That was the decade that supply side economics was foisted upon an ignorant and gullible public. The greatest scam ever pulled on a society, IMO.
