Things were not perfect, but looking back, the world was a much better place. We were not hated, we had realitive peace in the world, people had jobs and we were not scared all of the time.
Kerry has to win. 4 more years of AWOL and CrashCart at the top could destroy us :(

And I'm sad that I didn't fully enjoy those happy years as much as I might have.

To paraphrase Joni Mitchell:
They dumped sanity, and installed an i-di-ot With his council of crooks, fools, and sy-co-phants Don't it always seem to go That you don't know what you've got til it's lost They dumped sanity, and installed an i-di-ot

| 2. Well some people hated us but not anything like now. |
|
Though the thing I certainly miss is the steady work and even more the massive overtime. Under the Chimp so far I've missed 18 months out of 40, including all of this year. No one is building anything in the city and I hear it's bad in all the major markets.
Compared to what the world situation is now, yeah I'll take the kind of peace we had then for sure. But we could do even better than that.
Well, the one good thing is I'm not scared all the time. I'm not scared at all. I don't fear terrorists or "terrorists". I'm more likely to be killed by some crackhead than a terrorist.

See, you were luckier in your dream than I was. (Mine was from two nights ago.) I was trying to meet the guy at some public event, and an advisor or bodyguard was rude to me and wouldn't even let me say hello. But a little later I saw Bill petting one of my dogs, who was also on the scene, so I went away happy after all.
The weirdness our minds concoct.... :)

For me I think the biggest thing I miss was that sense of hope and promise for the future. Everything was so positive during the Clinton admin and the future seemed so bright.
From the minute Bush took office everything was so negative. We no longer talked and focused on what is right with the world and country. His focus has been what is wrong and how bad it is.

| 9. I agree. He is a brilliant man. Plus, our traditional allies still |
|
liked us. He was not perfect, but who is? He was, IMO, a great president, and increased our standing in the world, unlike Bush*, who has seemed to make us universally hated. A friend of mine recently asked if Clinton couldn't possibly run again. I sadly explained why he just never could.:-(
I agree that Kerry just has to win. We have to make this happen. I just cannot imagine four more years of Bush*. What more horrors he could perpetrate just boggles the mind. We need another candidate. I am a Kucinich supporter, but will vote for Kerry in a New York minute, if he can defeat Bush*. We can only hope.:-(

He was a guy who scored two convincing wins for our side. He even carried Montana for christ sakes!

things just felt safer when he was in office. He was so suave, he could talk to anyone and put them at ease instantly. Nothing like the raving, cowboy lunatic in office now. Everytime he gets ready to open his mouth, you can almost choke on the small amount of air left over America after everyone sucks in their breath and holds it, waiting to see which country he's going to piss off this time ....
Clinton wasn't perfect, but as a leader he was great ...
