Announcement of a planned FRAC mini-speaking tour:
Organizing a 21st Century Revolutionary Anarchism.
WHAT'S GOING ON?
The anarchist movement is at a crossroads. Three years ago, Seattle's N30 set the stage for the emergence of a new anarchist movement in the north of the Americas. Breaking with tired formulas of protest, the "Black Bloc" movement helped breathe fresh air into the lungs of anti-capitalist resistance by taking the streets and battling the forces of the State and organized capital. Radically militant and infused with a determination to win, anarchists participated in and played key roles in the development of new directly democratic organizing models, fostering face to face dialogue and spreading bottom up anti-authoritarian and anti-capitalist ideas and action.
Through spokes-councils and consultas, mass and confrontational direct action was given voice and put into practice. This has made anarchy undeniably among the most important phenomena in many of our lifetimes and given us a glimpse of a different reality submerged, but embryonic, under the present authoritarian one. However, successful growth in our movement and assistance in the revolutionary transformation of society, as real participants, not self appointed leaders, means building a base and communicating to ourselves and the rest of the world....
FRAC as an organization is still forming and believes it is necessary to keep the dialogue open with others in order to learn from each other. We are putting together a mini-speaking tour of the Midwest and Great Lakes areas and would like to hear from any groups interested in hosting a discussion with FRAC members.
