| Terminator 3 reference just now occurred to me |

and no, not for the obvious reasons.
There's a point that Ahnuld makes in T3 (as the future T101 sent back to "protect" John Conner & co.).
The advanced terminators of the future sent a T101 into the rebel camp because John felt "comfortable" and "nostalgic" about the one which befriended him as a boy. This allowed the assassin terminator to get close enough to "terminate" John (in the future).
Reality now mocks the 2-hour commercial for Ahnuld's gubernatorial campaign, where a lot of people might feel "comfortable" having a "warm and fuzzy" yet Republican actor get into the highest office in a state where the economy dwarves most industrialized nations.
I'm afraid for the future of this nation.

probably not enough people saw T3 to "get it".
as for ahnold being "warm and fuzzy", i doubt that fraudulent image will hold up once davis's spin machine gets started. there have been enough groping incidents to put a serious dent in that image. the guy is a misogynistic, narcissistic, steroid-abusing sociopath with no impulse control.
