Dean will not, and probably CAN NOT be president in 2004.

He could be President-elect, but anyone who wins in 2004 will not be President, in fact, until 2005.

That's why I added the word "elected" and got the scary result..

Certainly, we want to win with a broad mandate, but there is no electoral vote requirement that states winning the South is required. Clinton carried Ohio both times, as well as NH and NV. A combination of these three states will win the election when added to the 20 Gore states. Obviously, a FL pickup or a NC pickup or whatever Southern pickup would help take some pressure off winning say Wisconsin or other tight states, but
