Will the votes for a replacement be counted if Davis isn't recalled?

My understanding is that question number 1 is whether Davis should be recalled, and question number 2, is who should replace him if he is recalled. So...will the votes be counted for #2 if he manages to keep his job?

1. since they're on the same ballot...

...I would presume that they'll both becounted simultaneously. I wonder whether the tallies will be released if the recall fails.

2. Do you mean physically counted or count as in mean anything?

I am sure they will be physically counted as will the yes/no votes will be, but they only come into play if YES gets 50% plus one vote, otherwise they're meaningless.

But I'll be inerested if assuming the recall succeeds, the "No" on recall votes are actually more than any of the other candidates get. It will be a travesty of democracy.

Example: "No" gets 45% (Recall succeeds)
Bustamentate gets 35% of Vote
Bustamente will be Gov - go figure.

5. That's really the most troubling aspect

Davis should remain, even if recall gets more than 50%, if the number "against" recall is larger than the number for any individual candidate in round two. It's not fair, otherwise.
