| Ted Koppel: "There's a kernel of truth in all these stories" |
|
He said it last night, said that the one thing all the stories have in common is that none of them are fabrications.
Excuse me? Is Koppel telling us that people never lie? Is this Koppel's normal journalistic philosophy, that he must believe everyone is always telling him the truth?
Is that the approach he took when he covered WMD?

| 1. A kernel of truth in what stories? |
|
I don't make it a habit of watching Ted "Good-Hair" Koppel. But why guys like him, Jennings, Rather, Brokaw, even have the temerity to call themselves "journalists" is beyond me.
They should be more truthful about their job title and use the more appropriate British term, News-reader.

| 2. Koppel no longer interested in Truth |
|
He has long since joined the rank and file of "they all do it" when it comes to accusing politicians of smear campaigans. NO THEY DON'T. Or more to the point, no WE don't. There is no Democratic equivalent of Karl Rove or Lee Atwater.
Nightline loves to put on people from opposite sides of issues and have a "he said - she said" free-for-all. In the end, people don't know what to believe.
That's because Koppel & etc. don't care about finding the TRUTH.
