I posted in activism yesterday about creating a collection of Weapons of Mass Instruction handouts, and suggested a range of topics they could cover. BushCo gives us *way* too much material, and the task was starting to seem overwhelming.
But I think I have figured out what we should work on first--an Iraq war timeline. It should start as far back as, I'm thinking that picture of Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam, all the way through the current lack of WMDs being found.
We're thinking a series of headlines, from credible sources--collecting together in one handout news that has been available to the general public all along. We'd like to keep it as clinical as possible. With a "just the facts, Ma'am" style. The facts of what occurred should give any reasonable person pause when considering whether this war was just, or justifiable. We think if the public has the information - the rationale, the execution, the outcome - laid out in front of them it will be easier to see beyong the sound bites and photo ops that prop up Bush's popular "Wartime President" persona.
If you have any especially good sources let us know. We can use all the help we can get on this. We will ultimately make these flyers available online in .pdf format for downloading and printing. Also, if you have any good ideas about distributing the printouts let us know. We want to get people to read this who aren't necessarily LOOKING to be enlightened.
