We need that stat every time the usual "new jobs created by Bush" stat is blasted everywhere.

According to a survey done by Labor for the first quarter of '04, they determined that only about 9% of jobs lost are or were due to outsourcing.
I can't find much on this right now or any other analysis either supporting or disputing it.
So, the other 91% are due to straight down-sizing? business failure? ceos who need more money so we have to cut loose another 200?
I'll keep looking but maybe I've overlooked some obvious places for discussion.
I did a search in DU and couldn't find much.

I've posted a series of articles in the news/articles section that blast the unemployment statistics as manipulated and the latest BLS outsourcing study is seriously underestimated.
they also do not count Americans who are fired and replaced with foreigners through H-1B, L-1 Visas as well as normal job growth that should happen in the US, but instead they hire overseas... plus many multinationals "pick off" employees < 50 at a time which is not reported as well as a large percentage of corporations refused to answer the BLS.
