The Winning Team has partnered with Appalachian Energy on the project, which will save the restaurant company $12,000 annually and reduce greenhouse gases by about 100,000 pounds.

“All 33 stores should be completed by the end of February, 2008,” he said, adding that the flat-roofed restaurants make ideal locations for solar panels. “Most of the application panels are hidden.”
The panels should cover about 70 percent of the restaurants’ hot water needs.
