it really is amazing. The constellations are so vivid, so beautiful.
I guess Ivan cleared the air around here. It is tragic how you get used to a lack of visibility due to pollution.

Not too far from detroit. The clearest I have seen in some time, also a little chilly !!! I'm not complaining though, I love it !!!!

2. The pollution in So. California has been really bad lately...

In our 6'th year of drought here, and lawns looking green as ever. Particulate pollution the highest in the nation only a half-hour drive from my home... and a new superfund site.

I was in Vegas about a year ago, and I kept noticing all these GREEN lawns, GREEN golf courses, with sprinklers blasting, in the DESERT !!! In a place that gets like a quarter inch of rain a year !!! We really are getting more and more stupid here in the USA. These same assholes want to run a pipeline from the Great Lakes to the southwest. SO THEY CAN GROW GRASS IN THE DESERT.
