There's a curious listing in the want ads this week: An international engineering firm based in Pasadena seeks someone to manage construction of multibillion-dollar twin tunnels beneath the Delta.

But no such tunnels have been authorized.

The state of California has said for several years that no decision has been made on whether a peripheral canal or tunnel should be built.

The help wanted ad is premature, officials said Thursday. No contracts have been awarded; no decisions have been made.
