3. Mature, AND intelligent!

"And the Million Moms, they cried their fill". According to Michael Moore's movie "Bowling for Columbine" about 11,000 people die from guns a year. That's about 90 moms for every person killed! Whew, that's a lot of moms! It sure is a good thing our laws are based on what "mommies" think is safe! "Ok, mom, I'm heading over to the supermarket to pick up some groceries so I can make some dinner for myself tonight! What's that, mom? My jacket and helmet? Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me it's illegal to go out on a cold day without a jacket on, and it's illegal to drive a car now without wearing a helmet-because cars are always accidents about to happen. Don't worry, I won't break the 35 m.p.h. federal speed limit. Gee, it sure is great we all have to live a "rated PG" life so there's never any kind of conflict or tragedy!"

Really? Is Moore as much of a dunderhead as some people so often portray him as?

He, or you, might be referring to the 10,000 or so people who die from firearms HOMICIDE a year in the US.

That isn't quite the same as people who "die from guns" in a year.


That's about 90 moms for every person killed!

So no, it isn't, is it?

And nobody would want to spare a moment's thought for anybody who was injured, intimidated or criminally victimized (e.g. robbed) by a person using a firearm, I'm sure. Or their mum.

But gee, it sure is great to see yet another expression of the deep respect contempt in which posters in this forum hold women.

5. Criticism=Contempt?

Fine, you want to quibble over semantics? I happen to like Michael Moore. But, as usual, in your open-minded brilliance you just automatically assume that by quoting him I'm knocking him. 30,000 deaths from guns a year. 40% percent of those are men over the age of 40 committing suicide(we'll get rid of all guns so when people commit suicide in any number of other ways you'll feel all warm and fuzzy about it). We'll include those in there still just to keep you happy. That still works out to 33 moms per victim. There, you happy now? Because I resent the fact that people actually think it's Ok for worried mothers to govern my life, I have a deep contempt for women? Really?! This just further proves that you have built in bias' ready to knee-jerk at the drop of a hat. Why am I even answering your post?! This is like trying to argue with Jerry Falwell...
