| Like Chris Rock, I wouldn't try gun control at all, however I would charge $5,000 a bullet |

"He must have really wanted that guy dead, he just shot $50,000 worth of bullets in his ass."
Bullet control, baby!

instead of requiring the gun to identify the shooter.

Thanks to rifling marks on a bullet as it passes down the barrel of a gun.
I'm not really sure what tracable particles on a bullet would do...?

I think declue was talking about being aboe to identify without the gun.

|
I'm sure you know that the ability to produce fairly large amounts of ammunition from the raw materials is not exactly rocket science. How do you propose eliminating that criminal black market?

|
See, why would all these law loving authority types who can't run twenty feet without having a coronary but need to have a gun strapped to their ass to feel safe need to break the law to get ammunition?
Oh I would add on top of 5,000 dollars a bullet, if you're caught with contraband we execute your whole family three generations in each direction.
I'll bet there would be a drastic drop in gun crime. . . .

Why don't we just execute every poor person? Income is one of the strongest factors in violence. It seems you think only the wealthy are worthy of rights anyway.
Then we can kill everyone in jail for any crime because they have another strong indicator of future crime.

let me clarify my stance:
most rabid obsessed gun owners need their guns the way child molesters need children, and for exactly the same reason.
Just please don't ascribe words about poverty and other horseshit to me.
There are rational gun owners. They don't post here.

| 5. I've always wanted gun licenses just like car licenses. |
|
You can own as many cars as you want but you have to be licensed to drive them after passing a safety test.
You can own as many guns as you want, but you need to take a safety course, be tested and be licensed to buy that ammo.
No, it won't stop people who have the gumption to make their own, but it'll stop the 95% who don't have that kind of gumption. It won't stop the black market, either, but it will slow it down.
Sometimes slowing it down is the best you can do. At least it improves your odds.

| 24. Gun licenses ARE like car licenses |
|
Today, if you want to operate a car on public property, you have to have a license. If you want to carry a gun in public, you have to have a license.
Today, if you want to operate a car on private property, you need no license, registration, or insurance. Same way with a gun.

everyone's happy! Gun lovers can have all the guns they want because guns don't kill people, bullets do. And we'll see a lot less carnage caused by the things that do kill people...bullets.

It says "arms", and more specifically "well-regulated" arms. In other words, a weapon acceptable for military use and the proper bits to make it work. Ammo is covered under the 2nd Amendment.

This way, you can effectively undermine the constitutional rights of all Americans without actually having to ammend the constitution by legal means. Good for you!
I remember a lawyer a while ago that made the news after he repeatedly sued a couple he had gotten into an altercation with. Long story short, he wanted to fuck them over, so he just started suing them... for everything imaginable. He knew the lawsuits were without merit, and would be eventually dismissed or ruled against, but that wasn't the point. By the time he was done, he had managed to bankrupt them, as each and every time he filed suit, they were forced to hire an attorney they couldn't afford.
Legally, he was in the right. But his actions were morally reprehensible. So it is with your suggestion.
If you can't get the American public to agree on gun control - then controlling guns in whatever manner you suggest is against the will of the people. When you start looking to exploit loopholes to undermine the will of the people, you become a tyrant.
