2 Conn. cops injured by friendly fire during arrest of child porn suspect outside Harry Potter flick
Two Connecticut cops shot and injured two other officers during an arrest of a suspected child porn perv outside a late-night screening of the new Harry Potter movie.

-----

Gothberg was wanted on child pornography charges. He was heading to his car after watching a midnight showing of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," WTNH television reported.

The suspected perv resisted arrest, police said, and the officers opened fire after he made "sudden movements" and reached for his waistband.

Just as they started shooting, two more officers, Clifford J. Roper and David Slater, were arriving on the scene in a police cruiser.

9. Seeing as how the NRA offers training, and presumably makes big $
off said training, I'd say your assumption is pretty much worthless.

SSDD.

6. ROFLMAO!
I've got several cop friends that I shoot with-trust me, they aren't uber-gun experts. Most gun folks shoot for recreation, meaning they enjoy doing so and go every chance they get. Most cops shoot only at their qualifications bi-anually, and then only shoot enough to qualify. The folks so derisively called "gun nuts" on this board try to hit the range monthy or more, and tend to shoot 1k rounds or so per outing. I would much rather be downrange of a "gun nut" with a CCW (were I an innocent bystander) than find myself downrange of the cops if there's a shootout going on.

2. I had images of wizards and apprentices firing off their wands at each other.
At least they officers were apparently not using deathly hollowpoints at the Harry Potter bust.

14. I sense a possible merchandising opportunity: movie-themed ammunition
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallowpoints! Full Metal Jacket Full Metal Jackets! True Grit CAS ammo!

Hey, it makes as much sense as a "Pirates of the Caribbean" lunch box.
