5. Some numbers to chew on

So according to the FBI stats I have a greater chance of getting killed with a blunt object than I do by an assault weapon or other type of rifle.

That is 1 in 612,959 will get killed with a rifle of various types.
And 1 in 441,771 will get killed with Blunt objects (clubs, hammers, etc.)
And 1 in 315,348 will get killed by bare hands.
And 1 in 41,000 will be killed with a handgun of various types

The previous estimate numbers were based off of current census bureau US population numbers. The census bureau estimates the US poulation at 294,220,558.

And from GOA.org
Only 2 to 3% of crimes are committed using assault weapons.
That would mean an average of 9.6 to 14.4 murders are committed every year due to Assault weapons.

Because the term "assault weapon" will cease to have an official meaning.

7. I'm sure the gun control groups

will explain how assault weapons use has skyrocketed when they start counting post-ban weapons as assault weapons in their propaganda. Kind of like they do already when they say we need a stronger AWB.
