Israel Police officers set up roadblocks Tuesday around the homes of settlers in the Jewish area of the West Bank city of Hebron, where police have pledged to expel hundreds of young, non-resident Jewish protesters after days of rioting.
The youths have entered Hebron over the last four days to take part in protests meant to thwart the implementation of a court order to evacuate eight Jewish families who have been squatting in the city's wholesale market for the past four years.
Police on Tuesday detained 12 youths in the city suspected of attacking Israel Defense Forces soldiers several days ago or of being non-residents.
