Israeli minister puts 'moral' case for Arafat assassination

Senior Israeli minister Ehud Olmert said that the assassination of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat would be considered to put a halt to the killing of innocent civilians.

"From a fundamental, moral point of view, I want to put this question to every man of conscience," said Mr Olmert, who is Industry Minister and No. 2 in Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's government.

"How many more civilians must be killed ... before someone will come and say, 'Hey, let's stop the man who has been responsible for all of this?'

"It's well known that he is the head of a terrorist gang."

The leaders of Israel are hardly naive innocents either. Let's kill their leaders too. Why not? Leaders cause far more problems than the civilian population. Seems fair and moral to me.
