Indian American ISM Activist To Sue Israel

International Solidarity Movement volunteer Radhika Sainath, from Orange County, California is suing the state of Israel on Thursday, November 27 for unlawful imprisonment, negligence and breach of obligations. Leading human rights lawyer Shamai Liebowitz will be representing Ms. Sainath, who was seized by Israeli soldiers last November in the olive groves of the West Bank village Jayyous.

Ms. Sainath will testify against the gross misconduct of Israeli authorities in handling her arrest, during which she was prohibited from calling her lawyer, not served with an arrest warrant and transferred to multiple holding centers over 48 hours, causing her to suffer mental trauma and agony.

But what I am saying is that war is inherently a dangerous and chaotic environment, and that anybody who voluntarily places themself in the midst of such of an environment runs an enormous risk, absent any sort of conspiracy against her.

Are you implying that there aren't any inherent risks to being in a war zone? That conscientious objectors can, unless they are deliberately targeted, walk freely between two or more belligerent factions on a battlefield and not run a very high risk of being wounded or killed?

I used to have an open mind to the idea that Rachael Corrie's death was an accident.

That is, I had that open mind until a wave of attacks against people from ISM (and one time, their visiting parents) took place.

Mobuto, IDF was able to keep from killing the activists before. Now, they suddenly can't help but kill or injure them. I don't buy it.

Should have been arrested also. There should have been a contingent of Army medics and social works, psychologists, translators and signal corpsmen, to attend to her every need. Then they could have arrested her a put her in an nice comfy cell, with her favorite foods, entertainment, music and frequent visits form ISM comrades.

Of course the bill for her detention would be payable to the IDF. Israel is short of funds, also. (on edit)

So, she should be arrested for the Peace 'Dozer(TM) endangering her life by charging towards her.. do you want the driver arrested as part of this too, since he was kinda sorta maybe partly doing the "endangering" involved here, or was that brave & heroic man just "defending himself against 'terrorism'"?
