Undercover Border Police on Monday finally captured a Palestinian fugitive on the run for the 1998 murder of a Jewish settler in the Hebron hills.
Manifesting a determination of biblical proportions, security services nabbed Musa Dababsa near his village of Yata. He and his brothers were allegedly responsible for the vicious murder of Dov Driben at his Maon Farm, a settlement in the barren south Hebron slopes.
Driben, a bear of a man, had been shot and bludgeoned to death by the Dababsa brothers, apparently in a feud over grazing rights. Security officials also said the brothers were politically motivated.
Security forces had vowed to track down the killers who went on the run fearing Israeli justice. Three years ago, security forces caught up with Issa Halil Dababsa and shot him dead when he tried to shoot his way free. Last November, undercover Border Police found Ibrahim Dababsa and captured him.
