The Israeli political spectrum has divided into two opposing camps, those in favour of unilaterally disengaging from the Palestinians, and those opposed to disengagement, Labor MK Haim Ramon said Wednesday.

"The political spectrum is split into those who want to leave Gaza, who want to spare our soldiers and children from being killed in Gaza, who want to rid us of this heavy burden; and those who will do everything to keep us stuck in Gaza," Ramon said.

The decision also opens the door for coalition talks to begin with the Labor Party, which conditioned joining the government on Mazuz clearing Sharon.
Sharon's office said he would meet with opposition leader Shimon Peres and Labor faction chair Dalia Itzik at the beginning of next week.
