Israel Defense Forces troops foiled a suicide bombing in Haifa on Thursday when they stopped a suspicious-looking taxi in the West Bank and found two Fatah militants planning to carry out a terror attack, Israel Radio reported.
The IDF had set up several roadblocks around the West Bank city of Nablus after receiving warnings that Palestinian terrorists from the region were planning to carry out an attack.
The taxi tried to avoid a surprise roadblock east of the Tapuah junction, arousing soldiers' suspicion. The troops fired warning shots in the air, and one of the Palestinians in the cab tossed out a bag containing an explosives belt. There were no injuries.
