The High Court of Justice has upheld by a 6-1 vote the legitimacy of the Attorney General Menachem Mazuz's decision not to indict Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in the Greek island corruption case.
The ruling came in response to three petitions challenging the Mazuz decision.
The lone dissenting vote in the decision announced on Thursday was cast by Justice Mishael Cheshin.
Two months ago, Mazuz decided against filing charges in the case, despite the prior recommendation of former state prosecutor Edna Arbel that Sharon be indicted. Arbel is now a Supreme Court justice, but has been recused from ruling in the matter.
