My previous try at this was deleted. I still am not able to determine WHY it was deleted, as it wasn't an attack on you, but a simple use of your logic.

Why does it "belong" in Mecca? It is an important religious construction that belongs where it was built.

It offends me that you think it doesn't "belong" where it stands. It makes me feel like you think that Muslims don't "belong" there if the Mosque doesn't.

I would really appreciate a more thorough explanation as to why you feel it doesn't BELONG there.

Yes, of course I understand that Mecca is Islam's holiest city, however that doesn't even remotely mean that the Al-Aqsa Mosque belongs there.

Should I tell the leaders of Temple Judah (my local center of Judaism) that they should "move it to Jerusalem" if they feel threatened?

Jerusalem has (and should be) a holy city for MANY people. It is not Israel's place to deny, change, or move history or historical buildings.

What I need "help understanding" is why you feel that it doesn't "belong" is Jerusalem.

I assumed that Seth must have taken you out of context (apologies to Seth I should have known better) but you really are stating that because Mecca is the holiest of sites for Muslims that the mosque should be moved??? Should all the Christian sites/buildings be moved too? Or maybe because religions existed in the area before Judaism all the synagogues should be shifted too?

Although this could have an upside, no more bloody church bells waking me up on Sundays mornings, after all Melbourne is hardly a Christian holy land what are all these churches doing here :eyes:

one of the most curious comments put up in this forum for months (leaving out my own occasional burst from the running, of course), and it disappears.. Throwing a dare in the face of consequence, Gimel, could you perhaps expand a bit on the idea? (more than in your follow-up post, if possible) The reasoning behind it would interest me. I suppose you would have those who revere the Masjid al-Aqsa to be relocated to Makkah along with it? Interesting concepts here.
