I think we know how this works now. The Israelis seem to have HAMAS and other groups' leadership penetrated well enough to know where they are, but not well enough to put a bullet in the back of the heads of the people ordering the suicide bombings.

Forget the who-shot-john violence cycle. A suicide bombing shows that the Palestinian insurgents are back up to operational status. The Israelis are going to take the leaders out again. And since they can't sneak up and pop 'em one, they're going to have to level the apartment buildings they're hiding in.

That means that a hundred innocent Palestinans are going to die tomorrow to protect a dozen innocent Israelis next week. The Palestinians will look like victims, the Israelis will look like bastards, the entire Middle East will get an injection of ire and outrage.

And yet, the Israeli M.O. has been working amazingly well, so they're not going to stop doing what they do. What a fucking mess.

Does every Isreali living in Jerusalem accept the original U. N. mandate? If not, I fail to see why they are surprised that after 50 years of violence, the violence continues. Are Zionist goals for Jerusalem really worth all the violence??
