This is a general question on impeachment- not linked to "if Bush lied about WMD's"- Afterdowningsreet.org sponsored polls show the support at 53% in that case, in polls last year.

2. I've been waiting for a poll worded like this

Polls that ask if he should be impeached "if Bush lied about WMD's" are worthless because too many Americans will never admit that he did. It's something that they won't ever accept as a possibility. Instead, it was just a honest "intelligence failure", or a good faith mistake.

Of course, people would answer that Bush should be booted out if he lied about WMD's, just like people would say that Clinton should be impeached "if he lied to get us into a war with Serbia". It's a hypothetical, and those are always risky in the polling business.

I've been waiting for a poll that just asks point blank if Bush should be impeached, no what if's or conditions attached.

7. What was the popular support for impeachment of Clinton?

Can't be very much given that he had some 80% approval rating.

8. Clinton impeachment numbers

I recall at the time that the majority of people did not favor impeachment. If you recall, there was a congressional mid term election just as the impeachment was going to Congress, and as a result the republicans lost control of Congress, forcing the coup leaders to retire.
