Research Q for Paul T or Taker: Was Scheuer in the PEOC on 9/11?!

Okay, check out this bearded guy with glasses, with his back to the wall behind Condoleezza Rice and looking at Cheney, in the PEOC on 9/11:



Doesn't he look a lot like this guy, Michael Scheuer, a.k.a. Anonymous of the CIA?!



Any takers? Any clearer pictures of both fellows?

In Imperial Hubris he writes:
"From 2000 to 2004, I was deinied a job commensurate with my rank, experience and accomplishments. I was sent to the Bin Laden Unit on 12 Setpember 2001 - serving there until I resigned - and given a title but no official duties. My services were often sought, but, I was told, James Pavitt (Downing's successor as DDO) vetoed each request. Pavitt refused to let me help debrief senior Al Qaeda detainees. The CIA knew that Through Our Enemies' Eyes was respected by Islamists and that, as the author, I would be an effective debriefer. If memory serves me right he also said something about them not having a plan to invade Afghanistan, whereas he thought they should have had one, although I don't see why he would have to be privy to the inner circle's discussions to say that.

Who are the other people?
What do the passes hanging around their necks mean?
Is it important or are you just curious?

It does look like him, but whether it really is or not, I couldn't say with 100% certainty.

While it does look very similar, I think a description of what his job was around that time makes it nearly impossible he was there. Plus, you have to remember descriptions of who was in the room with Cheney at that time. Clarke said that basically they were all very political figures - he basically implied that they were all whack job Kool Aid drinkers. Look at the others in the picture, like Mary Matalin and Karen Hughes - serious Kool Aid drinkers. Whereas the career bureaucrats were at the other wing with Clarke. I think that division between the two types is very important and not at all coincidental.

4. I agree on the two types!

Meaning, the importance of the Clarke/Cheney split.

There were two separate command centers in the WH. Clarke at Situation Room played president in a videoconference with the "Principals" (heads of department), including Myers (who however wasn't there, according to his own story). They don't even know about Flight 77, the way Clarke tells it! While it approaches, they're stopping to watch Bush on the TV delivering his first message from Booker.

Meanwhile, Cheney in the PEOC (underground bunker) with his crony crew and they are tracking 77, according to all official stories until the Commission cleaned up the timelines and had him arriving there after the Pentagon hit.

Clarke says Rice went from Clarke to Cheney. When Mineta called, Clarke says he directed him to go to Cheney (where Mineta witnessed Cheney trying to handle 77, according to his ignored testimony). Whereas according to Woodward when Cheney arrived at the PEOC, Mineta was already there and handling 77!

Anyway, I imagine it almost as another wargame: Clarke running Team Blue, Cheney running Team Red.

If Scheuer had been there, it would have had big implications: the CIA controlling the whole thing and what a scam.

But I'm satisfied it's not Scheuer.
