He's walking a thin line with his first amendment rights here. Telling people to fight for their rights is okay. Telling people that you are going to be a sniper is an invitation to be arrested.

I think you're interpreting it incorrectly. Doesn't "if I get sniped" mean, "if I get killed"? That's how I interpreted it. He's saying, "if I get killed now (i.e. by Bushco), you'll know why ... because I told you to fight." He's suggesting there might be a hit out on him, not that he wants to kill the president. The previous lyric that you corrected would suggest he wanted to kill Bush, but I don't think that's the right line.
