| Our Dem leaders need to wake up about how to object to S.S. |
|
Why is there so little discussion about how much this is going to add on to our record twin deficits, while the dollar is hovering near record lows? I could be wrong about this, but I don’t think our Dem congressmen/women even bring this up very often. The Repigs are scared of that discussion, big time! Hell, the leaked Repig S.S. document even admits that they’re deceiving us about the cost when they say, “Your audience doesn't know how trillions and billions differ. They know these numbers are large, but not how large nor how many billions make make a trillion.”
On 1/17, John Snow said “the numbers that are being tossed around for the extra borrowing are a half-trillion to $2 trillion.” A half-trillion to $2 trillion!? That’s one hell of an approximation! The low end of that is more than double the cost of the war in Iraq! And the high end is…..what…..8…10 times as much, I forget how much that brilliant idea is costing us.
How can anyone see anything even remotely positive about, on top of decreased benefits, adding $2Trillion to OUR (the taxpayers) debt!? This is insanity! Dems need to start saying “$2 Trillion” VERY often. They need to take control of the debate and start letting people know how much this crap is going to cost. Though the media will likely be somewhat of a barrier to this, it’s better than crisis/no crisis BS….....
Am I wrong about this?

| 1. They've been objecting in the most mealy mouthed way |
|
It's time to stop politely objecting and bring out the brass knuckles for an all out brawl.

They've got just as much or more ammunition than they do objecting to Gonzo's nomination! And S.S. privatization is something that people are MUCH more inclined to be vocal about. This shouldn't be hard for them to figure out. I'm starting to think that they have no problem with it, the way they're objecting to it in such ineffective ways. :wtf:

plus, borrowing such a huge amount will make the US seem even MORE fiscally irresponsible, if that is even possible. It will drive the value of the dollar down even further. Plus the US will have to increase the interest that it pays on Treasuries so that people loaning the US money (by buying Treasuries) can be compensated for the added investment risk.
