Just to share this:

Thank you, sir, for your years of service, both in the military and in Congress. Thank you for your honesty and integrity. The words soldier, statesman, citizen stir a sentiment; but sentiment alone achieves nothing. It requires a living example. You, sir, are that living example of what it means to be a soldier, statesman, citizen.

Allow me to conclude with a quote from John Adams, "Great is the guilt of an unnecessary war." By your actions, you have done much to alleviate the guilt of the American people.
