| Landrieu & Lott together on Katrina? |
|
Edited on Fri Dec-02-05 01:02 PM by Dulcinea
Sen. Mary Landrieu should consider talking to Trent Lott about helping the Gulf Coast.
Now, before you start flaming, think about this. OK, one's a Dem & one's a Repub, but both come from states that were devastated by Katrina, & how much progress has been made? They could probably accomplish more together than alone. Plus, Lott's still pissed at the Repubs for hanging him out to dry over Thurmond. He could see this as a way to get back in the good graces of the people & his party.
You never know. As the old saying goes, politics makes strange bedfellows.

| 1. I agree. Lott doesn't care about going against Bush and Frist (he |
|
actually seems to relish it).

| 3. Heard Lott on Terri Gross yesterday |
|
he sounded upset with the dismemberment of the federal government, particullarly the underperformance/underfunding of FEMA, and also made mention of his base's religiosity not always being the best thing. Also talked about the decline in bi-partisanship. If I read him correctly, its very interesting from an arch conservative. Gives me a little hope

| 6. Landrieu and Lott both were Katrina victims |
|
Not only that, they are both representatives of numerous Katrina victims who cannot speak for themselves. I think they're trying to represent their constituents (for a change).
