So, Benjamin Kanne was a lawyer, orthodox russian jew. I wonder how that knowledge will effect the decisions of Wesley Clark. He said in his beliefnet interview that he had always felt an affinity for jewish people, so it all made sense. Just thought it was an interesting thought to ponder while russia was moving it's weapons around.

2. Interesting analysis.

Im quite serious. Background, genetics and upbringing make you a large part of the person you are and predispose us to certain affinities. We are all guilty of them. I was just curious as to if anyone could see the russia, liberation, kosovo, jewish, etc lineage.

Also curious about why George Soros, who finances one of the think tanks that Clark sits on the board at: International Crisis Group , put 10 million into Dean.

3. He didn't give 10 million to Dean

I would think it would be quite a story, and quite an outrage, if he had. He's pledged a large amount towards defeating Bush, regardless of who the nominee is. A Novak column in the last few days said that he's now leaning towards Clark, FWIW -- perhaps not much.

Clark himself has said that his approach towards Kosovo was largely conditioned by his experience during the Rwandan genocide. He'd just taken up a job in the Pentagon as head of strategic planning (or some such) and saw that plans were being made for intervention without any political will to actually do anything -- it was just a wheel-spinning charade. He didn't want to be part of something like that again.

I knew he'd given money to MoveOn, but if he did so with the justified expectation that it would "benefit Howard Dean" in any direct sense then both he and MoveOn are breaking the law big-time. You know about the $2000 limit, right? At any rate, MoveOn has not endorsed a candidate. Again, if Dean had gotten five million, ten million, any million of his campaign money from a single billionaire, it would be big news, as well as grossly illegal -- how could he claim to be the grassroots guy then?
