Republican are claiming that the Patriot Act has helped stop terrorist attacks. I am pretty sure they are lying about this issues; however, can anyone give any example of how the Patriot Act has stopped a terrorist attack.

As Mark Shields explained on the Jim Lehrer Newshour. Why go through the motions of a Legislative process - to provide a buffer for a dictatorship?
