It takes no great leap to compare right-wing voters to sheep but is the left simply another pack of animals stampeding to a different beat? While we might envision leftists as enlightened thinkers with a high sense of individuality, a herd mentality permeates ANY human group. For example, if you post a subject line that suggests notions foreign to the mainstream here at DU, it will take very little time for a herd of replies to trample the thread under fierce hooves of leftist logic.
Indeed, blaming other critters of the political jungle is FAR easier than indulging in such harsh self-analysis but first we must identify each target species. Since it is Sunday, let us prey. For example, where do Republicans get off adopting ANY sensitive and threatened species like the elephant? In fact, elephant herds quickly consume massive tracts of habitat, then move on to devastate new areas, so perhaps this mascot works on some levels.
Very few critters on the planet, however, leave behind less than the
Army Ant as it marches mindlessly along and the name is irresistible, so I nominate them for the new Republican mascot.
Individuals of either party aren't off limits, nor or other comparisons like this next iconic personification of Republicanism:![](http://www.chuck.thechiefsource.com/hello/804228/640/cartman-2005.05.11-21.27.45.jpg)
"RESPECT MY AUTHAURITAAH!"
Lately, at Google Images, I've felt like a kid in a candy store, when I search for things like "bush monster" or "bush antichrist." Check it out and post away! Then try explaining the comparison. Let's have a little fun, in light of recent polls and other news. What kind of critter is Russ or Hillary seen as these days?
