just where is President Macho now? here he not only has a chance to stand up to the Iranians on the world stage but also has a chance to demonstrate his keen grasp of the issues and possibly avoid yet another major war by utilizing his exemplary diplomatic skills ...
yeah, well, forget it ... President Fraidy Cat doesn't want to have an honest dialog with anybody ... even if it were scripted and even if he could be rigged with AT&T's finest back-of-your-suit communications equipment as he was in the Kerry debates, President Photo-Op is not going to accept the debate challenge from Iranian President Ahmadinejad ...
and that's too bad ... it could be an opportunity to make real diplomatic progress ...
but since bush will clearly be a no show, it would be interesting to see one of our leading Democrats out-flank the cowardly bush by accepting the challenge ... now that would be some TV worth watching and it would be a major boost for one of our candidates ... just a thought ...

"Peaceful nuclear energy is the right of the Iranian nation. The Iranian nation has chosen that based upon international regulations, it wants to use it and no one can stop it," he told a news conference.
The White House said Ahmadinejad's call for a presidential debate on global concerns was a "diversion" from international concerns over Iran's nuclear program. (NOTE: think about that ... the Iranians want to debate their right to have a "nuclear program" and the WH calls wanting to talk about having a debate about it a diversion) <skip>
"Isn't it time that international relations are founded on democracy and equal rights of the nations?"
"I suggest holding a live TV debate with Mr. George W. Bush to talk about world affairs and the ways to solve those issues," he said.
"The debate should be go uncensored in order for the American people to be able to listen to what we say and they should not restrict the American people from hearing the truth."
