The military had already been grumbling for a long time, at least the guys with brass on their caps & shoulders. Otherwise, the military press--which I believe was the real impetus for Bush's abrupt decision--would never have taken such a strong, unified stance in its editorials against Rummy on Monday. Rummy has always been a hard guy to like.
